Robin Derges

Robin Derges brings a unique skills set to Max Rider, he is first and foremost a passionate motorcyclist, but also a qualified teacher in the lifelong learning sector and a DSA registered post test motorcycle instructor. Robin holds several positions including Chair Peninsula Motorcycle Forum, President, Plymouth and Cornwall Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists (IAM).

As an IAM examiner for both cars and motorcycles he regularly works with the motorcycle press on educational issues such as good practical skills for bikers through his involvement with the Max Rider initiative.

His other credits include advertising and awareness campaigns, literature, viral marketing and film production, including 'A Day Out in Devon' see utube and 'Last Lap'. Robin's contributions to the acclaimed series 'Police Camera Action' continue to draw significant audiences.

Rob is qualified teacher in the Life Long Learning sector and a qualified DSA Post Test Motorcycle Instructor. Rob is at the forefront of developing interventions to keep motorcyclist safe into the new decade.

Rob said "To be the best at anything you have to put in the work, I wanted to be the best Motorcycle Instructor I could possibly be, of course I am still learning. But, my teacher training has given me a unique insight into helping people to get more from their bikes more from themselves and to do it on some of the finest roads in the country"!

In recent years Rob has toured in Spain and France and last year he completed the Lands End to John run taking in the fantastic motorcycling routes in the South West, Wales, Derbyshire, North Yorkshire, Scotland…… and back.

Rob said "There should always be time to ride".
